Intiman Theater

Classic and modern plays-seven of them-are put on each year by the Intiman. Founded in 1972 and performing in Seattle Center's Intiman Theatre, it is known as one of the city's best theater companies. The season runs from March through December.
Theater Schmeater

The Schmeater presents modern, frequently experimental plays in an exuberant, no-frills setting, in the middle of Capitol Hill. Roughly a dozen plays are performed each year, and admission is free to those under 18. The Classic in the Park (Volunteer Park) is also free, and the Fringe Festival is another yearly highlight.
UW Drama Theater

Students perform plays at three separate venues dotted around the campus. The main stage, the Playhouse, hosts full-sized repertory shows. Prices are quite affordable starting at a low $10, and the acting is generally of high quality. The productions also show a flair for the experimental.
