Puget Sound's premier winery has a host of offerings for local residents. Free tours of the presses, as well as wine tastings, are offered
daily, except for major holidays. The winery offers classes on wine appreciation, wine clubs, and unique special events, including date
nights with dinner and the chateau's wines, and a summer blues, jazz and classical concert series. An on-site shop sells Chateau St. Michelle
wines and other gift items, and an exhibit of glass art celebrates wine receptacles. Between the lovely setting near the north shore of
Lake Washington, the elegant flavors of the chateau wines, and the extensive calendar of events, this winery is always a pleasant visit. |

The SAM Gallery is less well-known than the museum, but it has some of the finest contemporary art available in the Northwest. The gallery
exhibits change every month or so, and include over a thousand pieces of art, from over two hundred local and regional artists, that reside
in the gallery's inventory. If you'd like to try the art before buying, or just need it temporarily, rentals are available, as well as
free consultations, and installment plan purchases. Meanwhile, the museum store always has art books, prints of paintings, posters, and
assorted merchandise for museum-goers to take a piece of art home with them. |
