Opened in 1978 as a showcase for the artwork of owners Paul Schneider and Lauren Eulau, Twist has grown from its humble Eugene origins into a renowned home décor and jewelry boutique. Twist has been touted by major magazines, including Metropolitan Home, for its approach to stylish, artful living. With over 200 artists represented, the store carries an amazing range of unique, artist-made items for daily living. There are bejeweled ice cream scoops; loud, hand painted ceramic serving bowls; funky, metal centerpieces, and whimsical dinnerware. Translated into English, kobo means "artist's workspace," and this serene Capitol Hill shop is exactly that. Showcasing the works of small, studio craftsmen from Japan, as well as the Asian-influenced works of artists from the Pacific Northwest, Kobo deals primarily in fine crafts. Kobo also sells tea ceremony supplies, books, and calligraphy materials.

FLORA EXOTICA
Don't expect to find the common carnation here. Flora Exotica deals in the foliage of the tropics - birds of paradise, orchids, water lilies, and bromeliads are standard fare here. Artful and dramatic, arrangements created out of this two woman run shop are stunningly different, but always beautiful. Fun fact: Sylvester Stallone's girlfriend bought him flowers here!

Laguna is a vintage American pottery shop -- with an emphasis on American dinnerware -- and its worldwide reputation is proof that the patterns that graced Mom and Grandma's table are still very much in vogue.
